| Rockaway, NJ - Titanium Industries,
Inc. has implemented the metal service center software STRATIX from the
metal industry software specialist Invera. Titanium Industries is the world's
largest metal service center and manufacturing distributor of titanium and
high performance metals for aerospace, medical, and general industrial applications.
Metal industry terminology, functions, and features made STRATIX easy to
deploy with minimum implementation costs and no modifications. The implementation
included STRATIX functions such as quality control, material certification,
metal price book, plate cutting pricing, multi-step and outside processing,
bar coding, shop floor production recording, on-line shipment planning,
and on-line CRM system.
STRATIX provided Titanium Industries with an efficient solution to meet
their stringent quality and certification requirements. STRATIX has comprehensive
functionality for the purchase and sale of material to "Metal Standards"
(ASTM, etc.), and numerous checks to guarantee that customers receive
exactly what they ordered. STRATIXimage, a mill test certificate scanning
and retrieval product, is also used to automatically email or print a
copy of the original mill certificate or other third-party test certificates
at time of shipment.
To improve the productivity of their sales staff, Titanium Industries
use specialized tools to quote and manage orders more rapidly and effectively.
These include metal price books, consolidated quoting screen, and, for
repeat business, the STRATIX Customer Part Specification function. This
function allows sales to enter a Quote or Sales Order using a customer's
part number, which is pre-defined and associated to a complete set of
information. This allows for consistency, saves times, and reduces the
chance of keying errors.
TI also use the STRATIX plate cutting functions to make it easier and
faster to enter quotes and orders. Salespeople select from a standard
set of shapes (rings, circles, etc.), and STRATIX calculates the estimated
processing time, cost, and charge, and adjusts the final price. This eliminates
manual calculations and increases the accuracy of the price.
The STRATIX Order Status Desktop has been invaluable to Titanium Industries.
As a clear and comprehensive status of the customer order in a single
view, it shows exactly where the material is at each stage of processing,
including outside processing, or transport planning and shipping. Sales
are therefore able to respond to customer inquiries rapidly and with confidence.
Titanium Industries benefited hugely from the outside processing function
in STRATIX. It is fully integrated with the Sales Order, the creation
of the outside processing Purchase Orders and transfer requirements is
all automated, and the status can be seen in the Order Status Desktop.
To further increase productivity, quality, and order status information,
TI implemented the STRATIX shop floor production functions to record production
in a real-time manner directly from work stations. This ensures a higher
level of quality, as STRATIX performs many checks at each stage to ensure
the proper material is applied. Operators also record processing times,
later used to evaluate machine and processing efficiency.
TI also print the STRATIX bar coded tags at receiving and production.
Combined with the STRATIX WiFi PDA function, the bar codes ensure that
material is correctly identified.
To improve on-time delivery and load consolidation, TI implemented the
STRATIX on-line Shipping Planning function, a comprehensive inquiry that
summarizes customer shipments and inter-warehouse transfers by destination,
delivery route, or shipping zone.
TI also implemented INVEX/CRM, Invera's Internet-based, fully integrated
STRATIX Customer Relationship Management product. This enables sales staff
to manage customer accounts and activities, and view current marketing
and sales analysis information all on-line.
